2C. Photograph of Something Beautiful

Niagara Falls

 

This shot of the Niagara Falls taken by my uncle in December 2012 captures the extraordinary beauty of the white cascading waters. It appears ethereal but at the same time one gets the sense of the enormous and overwhelming power the waterfall generates.

 

 

2B. Great Piece of Architecture

 

Prada Store, Tokyo by Herzog and DeMeuron

 

The diamond hatch pattern used in the design captures the eye and draws attention to the grand scale of the building. The use of transparent glass is especially striking because it not only reflects the external environment light but also showcases the interior so that shoppers seek to be part of the experience within the building. What is amazing about this building is that despite the building being dominated by geometrical and rigid lines the architects have being able to project a resoundingly elegant structure.

2A. My Creative Work

 

This is one of my watercolour paintings of the Australian landscape. It was inspired by the organic line work and textures that are the hallmark of John Wolseley's compositions. It portrays the unique, irreplaceable blends of form and colour of the natural world.
